A Unique Twist on Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner

Not everyone likes the traditional dry turkey and side-dishes for their Thanksgiving dinner. Why not try this side dish which is easy to make, looks great, and tastes better.

For those who want to prepare Thanksgiving without stewing in the kitchen all day, this a meal idea that is easily put together, adapts to a variety of meal situations, and has become one of my family's favorite recipes. We call it “Christmas Chicken” because of the colorful sauce.

Recipe Flexibility

While we originally were given the recipe as a chicken recipe, it works well on fish, venison, turkey slices, ham and other meats. You can cook it with the bone in – chicken breasts and thighs, or use chicken tenders which cook up faster.

Quick Recipe Preparation

This is one of my favorite recipes to have ready-to-go at a moments notice. All of the sauce ingredients will keep in the pantry until you need them. That means if you have everything ready to go you can throw together a meal for a sick church member, new baby, or friend who's having a bad day without any trouble!

So here's the recipe for the sauce:

Mix all these ingredients together and use it over any type of meat dish you want to dress up for the holidays. It is a perfect way to revamp left-over turkey to make it new and tasteful again.

This looks great, I buy my cranberry sauce in bulk at Smart&Final. So I am always on a look out for good recipes that incorporate cranberry sauce.
